Our Programs
At Humanity, everything we do comes together with one purpose: to help, uplift, and strengthen our community. We believe that when we work together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Our programs allow us to turn compassion into action, create opportunities, and provide support for the people and families in our community.
Weekly Food Distribution
Our Weekly Food Distribution is at the heart of our commitment to serving our community. Every Friday, we provide fresh food, produce, and other essential grocery items to approximately 150 people each week. To better serve our community, seniors ages 65 and older are served at 2:00 PM, allowing them to come earlier and avoid waiting during the hottest part of the day. Families and individuals are served at 4:00 PM. We also provide a convenient drive-up service, allowing community members to remain in their vehicles while our volunteers bring their food directly to them. Each week, our dedicated volunteers help unload, organize, pack, and distribute food with dignity, kindness, and compassion. For Humanity, it is about more than providing food it is about making sure the people in our rural community feel cared for, supported, and remembered. Our goal is to make sure people in our community know that every Friday, Humanity is here to help put food on their tables and provide the support they need.
Transportation Assistance
Our Transportation Assistance Program provides free local rides at no charge to help members of our community get where they need to go. Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store, post office, bank, library, medical appointment, or other essential places, we’re here to help make transportation a little easier. Living in a rural community can make getting around difficult, and Humanity wants to help ensure that a lack of transportation doesn’t prevent someone from taking care of their everyday needs.
Creative Minds for Humanity
Our Creative Minds for Humanity Learning Center is a place where children, youth, and adults can learn, create, and grow. We offer hands-on workshops, educational activities, creative projects, life-skills learning, and opportunities to explore new interests. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive space where members of our community can build confidence, discover their creativity, and learn skills they can carry with them throughout life.
Backpack Giveaway
Our annual Backpack Giveaway is one of the ways we help children and families in our local rural community prepare for a new school year. We understand that families in rural areas may not always have the same access to resources and services available in larger communities, which is why we believe it is important to provide support right here at home. Our goal is to help ease some of the back-to-school expenses for families while making sure our local students feel prepared, confident, and excited to return to the classroom.
Each backpack is filled with school essentials such as notebooks, pencils, erasers, crayons, sharpeners, and other useful supplies, along with a few snacks for the first day of school. We want our children to begin their school year knowing that their community believes in them, supports them, and wants to see them succeed.
Scholarship for Humanity
Through our Creative Minds for Humanity Learning Center, our commitment to education doesn’t end with our annual Backpack Giveaway. As our children grow and take the next steps in their educational journey, we want to continue finding meaningful ways to support them.. Our Scholarship Program supports students pursuing college, university, trade school, vocational training, or other post-secondary educational programs. We believe education can open doors and create brighter futures, and our goal is to provide financial support that helps students take the next step toward achieving their dreams. As our program continues to grow, we hope to provide even more scholarship opportunities for students in our community.
Holidays & Community Outreach
Our Holidays & Community Outreach is all about bringing our community together and making sure everyone has a place to feel welcome during the holiday season. Each year, on the day before Thanksgiving, we prepare and serve a free Thanksgiving meal for our community, along with activities and fun things for children and families to enjoy. Everything we provide is completely free, because this day is not about what someone can afford it is about sharing a meal, spending time together, creating memories, and reminding our neighbors that they are part of a community that cares. Through Humanity, we hope to create a warm and welcoming place where families, seniors, children, and individuals can come together, enjoy the holiday, and simply feel connected.
Toy Giveaway
As Christmas approaches, we continue the spirit of giving through our Christmas Toy Giveaway, providing toys to children in our community at no cost to their families. Everything we offer through these holiday events is completely free. Our goal is simply to bring people together, spread kindness and joy, create lasting memories for our children, and make sure our neighbors know they are surrounded by a community that cares.
All for Humanity Discount Store
Our All for Humanity Discount Store was created to provide our community with affordable everyday essentials while also supporting the work we do through Humanity. We offer clothing, household items, furniture, appliances, and other necessities at low prices so families can shop without stretching their budgets. Every purchase has a purpose proceeds from the store help support Humanity’s community programs and allow us to continue giving back to the people we serve.
