Humanity was founded in 2022 in the rural community of Lucerne Valley, California, from a simple but powerful moment. While serving through a local church food program, our founder encountered a person who was going through a difficult time and simply wanted a hot cup of coffee on a cold day.
In that moment, she realized just how important it can be to fill someone’s cup on a cold day. Sometimes it is not about how much you give, but simply being willing to give. A warm cup of coffee may seem like such a small thing, but to someone who is cold, struggling, or simply needs to know that someone cares, that one small act of compassion can mean everything.
That experience became part of the spark behind Humanity and the belief that compassion should never depend on where someone comes from, who they are, what they have, what they have done in their life, or the circumstances they may be facing.
Humanity was never founded around one person. Humanity is all of us. It is the love, compassion, and kindness that bring us together as human beings the connection we all share despite our differences.
Sometimes making a difference does not begin with something big. Sometimes it begins with simply seeing another person, choosing to care, and being willing to fill their cup.
